Feabie Site Review

By: Whogivesafuck?

This review is 100% unbiased!  This review is based on what I have seen, and experiences from the Start of August 2015 till August 23, 2015. This is also a review based on the website viewed from a computer, not by phone/tablet.

If you haven’t heard about the over 30,000 plus people who have joined Feabie; you’re not alone. Feabie is a site with multiple factors of existence. Coming from the owners who ran a gay men feedism site (Groverr), they decided to open up their doors to everyone, and combine the elements of feedism, body equality, and chubby chasers/ fat admirers/female fat admirers of any gender to join the site.

This review will consist of the following topics to grade, and they are:

    1.      How does the site operate like a social media platform?

    2.       Does it execute those goals in an efficient way?

    3.       If there are pay walls do they do anything extra for the site or not and why?

    4.       How’s the community at large, friendly or nasty?

I’ll be weighing (pun not intended) the pros and cons of each section and giving a final score based off of a final explanation of each section. All grading for the site will be at the end ranked in an A-F grading system. Here we go!

Feabie vs Social Media- Who wins out?!

Feabie definitely was created to be the merger of Facebook and Twitter, in the feedism/ body equality community (or the older brother to another site called Fantasy Feeder; depends on who you ask), but does it become the holy grail for this community?

Pros-

  •  Profile’s are much more organized than Facebook’s in which things are separated by sections.

You have your opening page where you can put if you are a Chubby Chaser/ Fat Admirer/Female Fat Admirer/Feeder/Feedee/BBW/BHM. What your gender is, and yes Transgender is included. What your relationship status is, what you are looking to do on this site, and something about you. I have seen opening sections be quite long in text so it doesn’t appear to have any text blockage.

The next section you have is your, “About Me,” section which is a bit clunky to be honest. There is a characteristic cap, but you won’t find out until you can’t write anything else in specific question blocks. A few examples are, your favorite movies/tv’s/music/books, and then your kind of date/soul mate/ favorite feeder/feedee moment, etc. You do not have to answer anything you don’t want to, and those questions won’t show up on your page!

The next section is what type of people, body wise, are you into. Are you into assess, bellies, or arms? You can select this information when you join the site for the first time as your profile will be given to you to work on before you even fully join; you can opt out of filling it out until later. Also if you have a kink that is outside of feedism, you have the option of selecting pre-made choices for you.

Lastly, for the gainer in mind, is the Weight History line graph, which looks accurate. You can post what weight you’re up to and even write a comment about the new milestone. Even if you do the dreaded word on there, DIET, you can still post your weight and the graph will follow your progression.

Note, it is not advised to talk about weight loss or dieting unless you can handle some sort of backlash. If you go to the gym to work out, male or female, you may get attacked. This occurred during the first week I was on the site and it became a hot issue all day between everyone. There are a small number of people who will encourage you on what you want to do with your life, but do note the drama is real on this site.

There is also a BMI function next to your profile picture, which I have seen, is 100% accurate. The site says all the weight stuff is in beta, but looks like it’s ready to go. I should know I have a BMI of 20 and after I typed up my weight, the site was 100% accurate to this.

  • The "newsfeed" of the site is quite organized and looks just like Facebook's but with the site's colors in the back ground.
  • You "Follow" someone to be connected to their page 24/7. This is the alternative to adding people as friends, more of a Twitter function.
You can even see who is following you! You'll get a notification about it but if you are following someone you'll see a hollow star on that person's page surrounded in a circle, if they are following you you'll see a light star surrounded in a circle on their page.

  •   You can see who has BEEN TO YOUR PAGE!

To me, this is the best option on the site. You be creepin? I see you! You’ll see the person’s profile picture at the mid-bottom left hand side on a computer. Now the site doesn’t tell you what they were viewing, but most times no one will say anything. Now if they’ve been to your page multiple times, might be a good idea to try to start up a conversation with them; might be shy.

  •   The site is easy to navigate through
  • You are able to view who is online, as well as view who is on your newsfeed (people you follow) and can even see who is online, their status, that live near your area!
This all can be customized in the settings section depending on what type of people you want to see "Only Women, or Guys who are Feedee's only."
  • You can search for people that are either in your area, or not in your area, by clicking the search button.
it is quite customize-able as well; very advanced searching as a default

  •   The hashtag/ number sign feature is used pretty heavily and people can click on them to read what other people have posted. Every day there is a new hashtag theme; repeats weekly.
  •   Private Messages are set up where you can view them either as a chat room between two people or as a message.

Meaning if you don’t like Facebook’s private messaging showing up as a chat icon, no fret! Feabie shows all PM’s through messaging, but if you stay on the page it will update every 20 seconds. The updating 20 seconds also goes to comments left on people’s status.

  •     The notification sound is pleasant, loud, and is immediate when someone posts something somewhere.
  •    Notifications are listed as “Notifications.”
  •    Settings are somewhat easy to navigate through but you have to dig deep for some things to find.

 -See con list.

Cons-

  •   The main thing people, on the site, are not please about is how there isn’t a way to tag other members in their posts. The “@” button doesn’t exist.
  •   When someone “Likes” something on your status, you do not get a notification on who liked what.

Only for photos does this exist at, and members have also been asking for this feature to exist.

  •    Very difficult to find who has blocked you in the settings.

I have not found this option on the site, but others have experienced seeing they were blocked on someone’s page.

  •    There are random moments when the server crashes.

When the server does crash the entire site is frozen and you can still hear the notifications, but you can’t access them. The administrators do not have a feature that tells people when the site will go down for maintenance until after the fact it is done; that something was done. There have been times they have informed the community, via a bulletin status at the top of the page.

  •     Notifications can get annoying; quickly.

If you’re OCD about seeing a notification number on a screen, you can only get rid of it once you click on the notification button, and in some cases you’ll have to go through over 30 notifications, and check each one in order to remove the notifications. For you females out there, you know the struggle is real.

  •     Can’t respond to people directly if they comment on your photos, can only like what they said.

If you wanted to thank someone, or you two shared an interest in something and wanted to gab about it for another 40 lines down, nope; not happening. You can only like what someone wrote, which they won’t see unless they visit your page again, and you can only comment on your own photo, which no one will get a notification about either.

So there’s a good chunk of Pros and Cons here, but does the site execute a well run social media site? Yes, and No. It really is a tossup whoever you ask. I’ve seen people leave because the site wasn’t running well, or it was too complicated for them. Since this is an unbiased review, and I’m basing it on my experience, I’m going to give the site’s functions a…

B-

The reason is, even though you’ll get notifications telling you someone liked your photo, you can’t respond directly to them and if you respond to your own photo, no one sees that. The server has random moments when it shuts down and a good amount of people do think you give up on talking to them, which may not be the case; we’ll get to the community soon.

My gripe is with not being able to tag people in posts. That way, if you’re close with someone, you two can crack jokes all day long, or get talking about great stuff. You should also be able to get notifications on who likes what. Sure it may take up your notifications, but I’d sacrifice going through 100 notifications a day to see who I’m engaging in fun topics, with like minded people. This is a first step as Feabie claims they are in beta; we’ll get to that later.

Step right up, step right up, open your wallets for me please!

This refers to after August 10, 2015 every member was switched from Premium membership to the FREE Membership. I understand that sites have to make money, but you be the judge on does paying anything get you something more that Free members would want.

What you get Premiums

  •    You get to view an unlimited amount of pictures, in full size, without any limitations.
  •   Unlimited number of blocking people power.
  •    Are able to write on anyone’s “wall” without any limitations
  •   Can write to as many people in the private messaging area without any limitations
  •     Are able to view everyone who has visited your page in that day without any limitations.
  •     Are able to view everyone’s weight history without any limitations.
  •     The feeling that you are helping the community strive forward in a positive light.
  •      Have unlimited uploading abilities for photos.
  •     Can post a comment to anyone’s status without limitations.
  • Are able to search for anyone without any limitations.

Why am I sitting under a bridge now? What you get with Free Memberships

  •    Can only view 25 photos, in full size, until you only see ¼ of the picture size starting with photo 26.
  •     For men- Can only block 10 members, For Women- Unlimited number.
  •     Can only write on 10 people’s wall a day, as well as start 10 new conversations a day via private messaging.
  •    Are able to respond to anyone who responds to something you wrote, unlimited, and can post a comment to anyone’s status without any limitations.
  •    Can only view the last 15 members who have been to your page instead of the whole list.
  • You are restricted on how many people you can look for in the search area; per day.

There are multiple price options either by once a month all the way up to a full year. A full year membership is $60 or as they say $5 a month. I believe a one month membership is $8 a month. Does the premium membership do anything extra than in a free membership? Absolutely not! When I see a pay wall up I want to see extra perks you can’t get with a free membership, and the owners of the site decided to remove parts of the full website and place it in a “pay wall” option. Give the free members incentive to buy a membership like the option to post videos in a created video portal, or something that doesn’t take away actual site features that should be for everyone.

My grading on this is-

C

I understand money is hard to come by now a day, but if you’re not going to give your premium members something more than what the site was programmed to do originally, an $8 a month monthly pay to $60 for a year pay just isn’t worth it. If you’re a hard core Feabian, and want to post unlimited photos/messages/etc then this pay wall is for you!

LOVE ME PLEASE? ME, ME, ME, FUCK YOU, I HATE YOU NOW!

These are words that are quite often on this site. Just like in real life you’re going to meet a lot of assholes, and you’ll meet the respectful people. Not everyone is into feedism on the site, and I have seen it be a half part of the site even if it was made with feedism as the top priority; it’s a place for everyone now. I have even met someone who isn’t into any of this and they are not even a bigger person they are just there for making friends. When it comes to the assholes of the group, let’s just say they are incredibly sensitive and immature. If you tell them something they don’t like they will post your profile name, on a status, or your conversation, and have you land blasted later on. For the respectful crowd, it depends on going through the needles in a barrel to find the untouched flowers.

Pros-

  •     Make Great New Friends
  •     Possibly become an item with someone you met
  •     Have meet up sessions with groups of people, or just the two of you
  •     Get Married?
  •     Get to meet someone who is into your “kink” and not have it be such a bad thing to them.

Word to everyone, starting a conversation with just “Hi,” or “I want to fuck you (shows dick/vagina picture) will get you blocked immediately and the site owners can intervene if you are getting harassed. Get to know someone based on their interests and if it isn’t posted well try picking their brain about things. Also don’t be too freaked out if they don’t respond right away, everyone has a life, they are responding to 60 other people, or are doing other things. I know it is the respectful thing to say “I’m out doing something; talk to you later,” OR “I’m not really interested in talking to you right now, maybe another time?” But the world sadly doesn’t have enough of those people. If you end up never talking to a person again, after you’ve responded a few times, get the hint that they are not interested in you whether it was for a relationship of any kind, and move on. There are people who will like to talk to you; trust me.

Cons-

  •    The constant- “My life sucks I’m not pretty because this guy said so,” fishing for compliment status.

I’ve done one of these "attention getting" posts, and people do help you out, but it is much like Facebook in this regard.

  •   “Sex Workers,” are only interested in those with fat wallets, not friendships; not always/ sometimes.

I’m going to get hate for this I know it, but these are experiences I have witness and been in. They may push you into a headache if you tell them you’re shocked they were a sex worker and take it as a insult on their gender/body type/ mental status/ etc. Not all of the sex workers are bad people, not at all, but there are good amounts that are there to push their product only, and if you’re not interested in the product; move on. They have the right to do that, of course, but to hate on someone for not being interested in buying products isn’t good in my opinion, but that’s life.

  •   Men and Women complaining on why they are single- The Facebook statuses do carry over it would seem.
  •     Guys who are only interested in the kink parts of the site and don’t want to get to know someone else for their mind.
  •     “Plenty of Fish” Mentality- Some people are just there for hook ups.
  •    Women who are interested in certain men and find out they are all married, or have girlfriends with kids.
  •     Men who are on this site CHEATING ON THEIR SPOUSE! This isn’t Ashley Madison.
  •     If someone doesn’t respond to you, period, some people flip out and send hate messages to those people.
  •     People who carry on talking with one another, like talking to each other, and then someone stops talking to them, and won’t respond to them.

-Even if there isn’t anything wrong they said. This unfortunately happens a lot, and we may never know why the reason is.

Really it is the land of Facebook just carried over. I’ll say for my grade it’s a-

C+

If you’re interested in getting to meet people, whether you have a kink or not, you’ll have to search somewhat really hard, but other times it could be right in your face. If someone doesn’t respond back to you, it isn’t the end of the world! Be happy for the people who are talking to you, and who are in your life right at this moment. If you’re looking to make friends just announce that with something you’re interested in, or comment on someone’s status that shares your interests. Don’t announce you’re looking to feed someone to immobility. You’ll get a lot of nothings from that.

Final overview

If you’re an avid person in the plus size community and are looking to meet people of all sizes, then this site may be for you! Even if you’re a Feeder/Feedee interested in Feedism, and wish to not be judged, then this site is definitely up your alley. You don’t have to post a photo of yourself, and that is fine, but people may criticize you for it, or show “no respect.”

Something you could look into doing is writing on your profile you’ll only show what you look like to people you trust/ get to know better/ close friends. I know this tactic has worked for me since I had my photo posted, and did take it down eventually. Feabie claims they are still in beta, but for a site that claims this, with a pay wall, just like anything that is in beta now a day, it may be a cop out so when things go wrong, oh well, we have your money; thanks!

The community does have some bad apples, but there are also the lovely ones. Just find the ones who you would want to associate yourself with in real life. I noticed there are meet up groups being talked about, to be formed, in real life, and might be something to take advantage of if you find people in your area.

My overall grading of Feabie is a solid-

C

It isn’t the best site in the world, nor is it the worse, but it has potential. It just depends on if the community will do what they can to grow this site into the go to place for the plus size world or not; we shall see. Feabie has grown to 10,000 new members since my arrival, whether or not this type of growth continues will all end up coming down on the community at large and the people who run it.

Note- I do not own the photo at the beginning of the page!

This is my review of the website, Feabie. It is not judgmental, or biased. Straight down the line truth from things I have witness and been involved in on the site. Let me know your thoughts and experiences.
